Verifi runs 32 checks on every posting, grouped into seven categories. Here's what each one looks at.
Is the right paperwork attached, and does it belong here?
Missing document β The entry has no document attached at all.
VAT missing document β A posting that claims VAT has no supporting invoice or receipt attached.
Pro-forma invoice detected β The attached document is a pro-forma, not a valid tax invoice.
Document relevance β Whether the attached document actually relates to the entry.
Is the VAT treatment correct and compliant?
VAT code missing β A purchase or sale that should carry VAT has no VAT code set.
VAT on balance-sheet account β A VAT code is applied to a balance-sheet account, where VAT doesn't belong.
Account default VAT deviation β The VAT code used differs from the account's default VAT code in your chart.
VAT rate deviation β The VAT rate used differs from the rate expected for this type of purchase or shown on the document.
VAT treatment mismatch β The VAT deduction doesn't fit the expense type (representation, staff, employee outlay).
VAT domestic/foreign mismatch β Domestic versus foreign (EU / reverse-charge) VAT handling doesn't match the document.
VAT amount mismatch β The VAT amount booked doesn't match the VAT shown on the document.
Invoice VAT-number missing β A VAT-charging invoice lacks the supplier's VAT registration number.
Supplier VAT not registered β The supplier charged VAT but isn't VAT-registered (per VIES / registry).
Supplier VAT-number mismatch β The VAT number on the invoice doesn't match the supplier's registered VAT number.
VAT eligibility β Whether VAT is genuinely deductible for this expense, per the document.
Is the supplier side of the entry properly recorded?
Supplier missing β A creditor or purchase voucher has no supplier assigned.
Invoice number missing β A supplier invoice has no invoice number recorded.
Duplicate invoice number β The same supplier invoice number has already been booked β a possible double posting.
CVR mismatch β The supplier's CVR / company number on the document doesn't match the booked supplier.
Is this entry booked the way this supplier is normally booked? These compare against the supplier's own booking history.
Vendor amount deviation β The amount is unusual versus this supplier's booking history.
Vendor VAT-code deviation β The VAT code differs from how this supplier is normally booked.
Vendor account deviation β The expense account differs from where this supplier is normally booked.

Do the numbers and dates add up, and match the document?
Voucher unbalanced β The voucher's debits and credits don't net to zero.
Amount mismatch β The booked amount doesn't match the amount on the document.
Date mismatch β The posting date doesn't match the document date, or it lands in the wrong or a closed period.
Invalid due date β The due date is missing, falls before the invoice date, or is otherwise implausible.
Is the entry booked to the right kind of account, and treated correctly?
Account appropriateness β Whether the chosen account fits what the document or expense is for.
Fixed-asset check β A purchase over the small-asset threshold should be capitalised, not expensed.
Accrual recommendation β A material cost spanning several months should be periodised / accrued.
Are payments reconciling against what's owed?
Supplier payment, no invoice cleared β A supplier payment doesn't fully clear an open invoice, leaving a residual.
Payment line missing β An invoice that should be paid has no payment line or instructions.
Findings aren't permanent. If a finding is a false positive, or you've reviewed it and decided it's fine, mark it OK. The finding steps down one severity level, and similar future entries inherit that judgement. If the entry changes later and the finding returns with a different severity, the override is cleared so you can review it fresh.
